Mathematical center in Akademgorodok invites you to take part in the seminar on May 22 at 6 pm Novosibirsk time (UTC+7). The seminar’s heads – I. A. Taimanov, S. I. Kabanikhin, A. E. Mironov, M. A. Shishlenin. The secretary – N. M. Prokhoshin (
n.prokhoshin@g.nsu.ru).
During the seminar
K. K. Sabelfeld (The Institute of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics SB RAS, NSU) will present his talk
“Stochastic modeling in applied mathematics and computational physics”.
The talk covers modern methods of stochastic modeling (also known as Monte Carlo methods) and their application to problems of applied mathematics and computational physics. In particular, probabilistic approaches and algorithms of solving multidimensional problems of mathematical physics will be presented, as well as high dimensionality problems and stochastic methods of manipulations with big data in case of random projection methods and theorems on measure of concentration. Using various examples, I will provide methods of random walks for solving physics problems, e.g. transport modeling, modeling of interaction between electrons and holes in semiconductors, modeling of phase transitions, modeling of nanoconductor growth, excitons recombination and many more processes.
To take part, please, on May 22 after 5:45 pm Novosibirsk time (UTC+7) connect to the Zoom conference via this link: .
You can also connect manually in the Zoom app using the Conference ID: 968 3670 3452.
