Mathematical center in Akademgorodok together with the Chair of Geometry and Topology invites you to take part in the seminar on
June 15 at 2 pm Novosibirsk time (UTC+7).
The Head of the seminar – I. A. Taimanov.
During the seminar an invited guest
Dmitry Kaledin (Steklov Mathematical Institute, Moscow) will present a talk
"Non-Kaehler complex surfaces (after Ornea-Verbitsky-Vuletescu)".
Non-Kaehler complex surfaces have been (partially) classified by Kodaira together with the Kaehler ones, but this was just a bit of a side-note to the general theory. In a recent paper by Ornea, Verbitsky and Vuletescu, the authors show how to do the non-Kaehler classification in the very straightforward and uniform manner, starting from first principles and without any difficult case-by-case arguments. I will try to explain this approach to classification, in a way comprehensible to geometers and topologists without much specific expertise in complex geometry.
