The second meeting of a new seminar on fundamental and applied problems in mathematics and IT will be held on May 20

The second meeting of the new seminar will be held on May 20 at 6 pm (UTC+7) in room 212 of the NSU rector's building.

Igor Solodov, head of the BigData Research Team at Huawei Technologies, will present the second part of his talk: "Machine learning — the evolution of engineering solutions based on ML algorithms to a serious fundamental problem of «Artificial Intelligence». Combining engineering and mathematical approaches to the development of ML (AI?) interspersed with «Big Data»".

Modern systems and solutions based on ML technologies mainly allow a person to perform various and rather narrow tasks. At first glance, it may look like "an IT system that resembles intelligent behavior, including human behavior." At the seminar, we will discuss how this works internally using the example of cloud service systems and will try to formulate hypotheses about how mathematics, paired with an engineering approach, can change this in the direction people need.
Meetings of the new seminar are held regularly. Stay tuned for updates on this website.
