MCA launches master classes in geometric analysis

The MCA Research Group "Geometric Analysis and Its Applications" is launching a series of workshops on geometric analysis. The main task of the classes is to acquaint students, graduates and young scientists with new directions and new methods in those areas of mathematics that are not presented in traditional courses.

The first event will be the mini-course "Complex tropical aspects of algebraic geometry" by the professor of Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk) August K. Tsikh. The course will be read on October 18–29.

We will study the combinatorial-geometric properties of algebraic sets in spaces over the (Archimedean) field of complex numbers and the (non-Archimedean) field of Puiseau series. The research is based on projections of algebraic sets onto subspaces of the corresponding norms. Such projections are called amoebas of algebraic sets; in the non-Archimedean case, amoeba are also called tropical algebraic sets. The course consists of 4 lectures.

The schedule of lectures and a link to connect can be found on the website .
