鈥� a seminar of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok and the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics of the Siberian Branch of RAS, the purpose of which is to give students a general idea of the areas of research carried out by scientists from the Novosibirsk Scientific Center, as well as Russia and the world. The peculiarity of the seminar is that the emphasis in the talks is on the accessibility of the presentation of the material to a wide circle of the mathematical community, and only then on the detailing of the mathematical content.

Yury L. Trakhinin (RAS corresponding member, senior researcher of the Laboratory of Computational Problems of Mathematical Physics Problems of the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics) will present his talk
"On the local solvability of problems with free boundaries for hyperbolic systems of conservation laws". The seminar will be held in
room 417 of IM SB RAS.
In the talk, on the example of the equations of magnetohydrodynamics of an ideal compressible fluid we will discuss issues related to the proof local in time of existence and uniqueness of smooth solutions problems with free boundaries for hyperbolic systems of laws conservation. We will mainly discuss the free boundary problem for magnetohydrodynamic tangential discontinuity. This gap in particular, it is used to model the heliopause (the boundary of the Solar systems).
