Scientific, educational and industrial projects will be discussed at the MCA's workshop

Fr om July 24 to August 13, the Great Mathematical Workshop will be held, wh ere teams of students, schoolchildren and teachers are invited to try to solve or make significant progress in solving an interesting research problem as part of their project. The projects of the Workshop come both from scientific organizations (for example, from institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences) and from enterprises and businesses. All projects will be conducted in Russian language.

— The projects of 2022 are very diverse. They have a place for high school students, students of mathematical faculties and not only young researchers, — says the main organizer of the Workshop, Deputy Director of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok Timur Nasybullov.

This year, full-time participation is planned at three venues: Novosibirsk (Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok), Tomsk (Regional Scientific and Educational Mathematical Center of TSU) and Tyumen (Tyumen State University). Projects in which you can take part are aimed at:
  • questions of fundamental mathematics — algebra, geometry, topology;
  • automation and optimization of various processes;
  • mathematical modeling and application of machine learning to finance, medicine and computer games.
In addition, projects for teachers and teachers are presented for the first time. The full list of projects can be found on the  (in Russian).

— The workshop is developing dynamically: new sites and customers are connecting to us. The idea of organizing a flow for teachers, as well as all those who are concerned about the development of education, was born in close cooperation with the regional center "Altair". It seems to us that it is in the communication of teachers, researchers, business representatives and students that interesting educational concepts can be born, —&²Ô²ú²õ±è;²õ²¹²â²õ Anastasia Karpenko, Deputy Director of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok.

Group work on projects will take place at the Great Mathematical Workshop, after which the participants will talk about the results in their reports. A pitch session of projects is also provided. Based on the results of the work, a software product, a scientific publication, a patent or a grant application can be created. The organizers emphasize that everything depends on the initial task and active work on the GMM.

Workshop dates:
  • First module: July 24–30
  • Intermodule: July 31 - August 6
  • Second module: August 7–13
You can register and apply for participation in projects until July 11 on the  (in Russian).
