Alexey Zhabko read a course of lectures “Systems of Delay Differential Equations. Lyapunov Functionals and Matricesâ€

On October 4–6, 2022, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Control Theory of St. Petersburg State University, Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation Alexey P. Zhabko read a course of lectures “Systems of Delay Differential Equations. Lyapunov Functionals and Matricesâ€.

We considered systems of differential equations with constant coefficients and constant delay, which belong to the class of delay equations. To study the stability of solutions to such systems, A. P. Zhabko and V. L. Kharitonov introduced a full-type functional, which proved to be effective. In the lectures, it was told about the use of this functional for obtaining estimates of solutions, for studying robust stability, for estimating critical values of delay. Special attention was paid to the synthesis of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii and Razumikhin approaches to study the stability of solutions. The converse of Krasovskii's theorem and various generalizations of the results established for time-delay systems with constant coefficients to systems with several delays and systems of neutral type with constant coefficients were discussed.

Lectures were held at ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø. The lectures were attended by students and graduate students of ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø, employees of the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics and the Lavrentyev Institute of Hydrodynamics.

Lectures by Dr. Zhabko were organized by the participants of the research project "Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems" of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok.
