The first module of was held at ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø from July 9 to 15. As part of the first module, teams of students, schoolchildren and teachers began working on projects attracted by the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok from industrial and business organizations, research institutes, universities and educational centers.
Work on 28 projects has started at the site in Novosibirsk. The projects are divided into 6 thematic areas:
- Machine learning,
- Algorithms and optimization,
- Mathematics and life,
- Abstract mathematics,
- School,
- Education.
The first module of the Big Mathematical Workshop is aimed at understanding the problem posed by the customer, determining the image of the future result and outlining the steps by which it is planned to achieve this image. Teams of many projects have already determined the final statement of the problem, and already during the first module they began to solve it. The teams spoke about the results achieved during plenary presentations on the final day of the first module of the Workshop.
“I really like the work of the Workshop this year. Many teams set extremely ambitious goals that, at first glance, looked unrealistic to me. However, when I listened to the teams' presentations and learned about the results achieved in the first module, I was pleasantly surprised. But only a week of work has passed. I can’t wait for the second module, I’m sure the results will be stunning,†says
Timur Nasybullov, head of the Big Mathematical Workshop, deputy director of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
On July 19, the second module of the Great Mathematical Workshop begins. We wish the participants, curators and organizers success in their work.
