Post-quantum cryptosystems, methods of protecting data from leaks and privacy issues were studied by participants of the Summer School on Cryptography

The summer school-conference with international participation “Cryptography and Information Security” - a traditional event organized by the Cryptographic Center (Novosibirsk), the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, and the organizers of the international Olympiad NSUCRYPTO - successfully ended in Kaliningrad. This year the Summer School was held in collaboration with the Baltic Federal University. I. Kant and on his basis.

80 students and teachers conducted scientific research in the field of cryptography. 20 lectures were given by leading experts from Moscow, Taganrog, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk, a round table was organized, and most importantly, scientific research was conducted under the guidance of experienced cryptographers. As a result of the work at the summer school, a collection of abstracts was published - .

I. V. Chizhov, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Moscow State University and S. V. Grebnev, leading cryptographer-researcher at the Russian Quantum Center (Moscow) conducted research in the field of cryptographic protocols and post-quantum systems based on codes .
The creator of the world's best SAT solver (according to the results of the international competition SATrace 2019), Ph.D., leading researcher at the Institute of System Dynamics and Control Theory (Irkutsk), O. S. Zaikin shared his experience in the field of SAT cryptanalysis of ciphers and hash functions.

Privacy of data in smart contracts, problems of blockchain scalability, implementation of anonymous payments based on modern cryptocurrencies, ensuring the confidentiality of financial assets - all these are the topics of various projects of NSU teacher D. O. Kondyrev and employee of the Baltic Federal University, E. M. Melnichuk. It is interesting to note that E. M. Melnichuk is a successful analyst in the field of investigating financial crimes committed using blockchain technologies.

The use of cryptographic device power consumption emulators in combination with statistical tests allows one to examine implementations of cryptographic algorithms with the ability to identify side channels of data leakage. The project of E. A. Maro, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Southern Federal University, was dedicated to precisely such relevant research.

An invited expert from the industry, an employee of JSC NPK Kryptonit, K. D. Tsaregorodtsev, conducted research on alternative models of symmetric encryption. The projects of NSU employees Ph.D. were devoted to the construction and analysis of block cipher components. N. A. Kolomeitsa, A. S. Shaporenko, I. S. Khilchuk.

And of course, a separate block of lectures and projects was devoted to post-quantum cryptosystems and cryptanalysis. The developers of the post-quantum electronic signature systems “Rosihip” and “Kryzhovnik”, which are undergoing the standardization process in the Russian Federation right now, met at one site. E. S. Malygina, S. V. Grebnev, I. V. Chizhov, E. A. Kirshanova, S. A. Novoselov, N. S. Kolesnikov, A. V. Kutsenko, A. O. Bakharev shared with students with your unique experience.

Unusual sports activities always accompany summer school and allow participants to work with maximum energy and dedication, they are conducted by a highly qualified trainer S.V. Kostochka.

“High scientific level and unique teaching staff. This is what distinguishes our summer school and attracts great interest from students from all over the country. There are no analogues of such a cryptographic school in Russia. We thank our co-organizer - the Baltic Federal University - and personally Associate Professor of IKBFU Ekaterina Malygina for the brilliant organization, warm welcome and amazing atmosphere,” notes the head of the summer school, Associate Professor of NSU, Natalya Tokareva.

The summer school-conference was held with the support of the Cryptographic Center (Novosibirsk), the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok and the North-Western Center for Mathematical Research named after. S. Kovalevskaya.
