Petroglyphs are the most important type of archaeological material. The realities depicted on them help us visualize the culture and life of ancient societies. The subjects and compositions help us reconstruct the spiritual aspect of their lives. Thanks to State grant support and good contacts with Chinese colleagues, a group of our scientists had the rare opportunity to work directly on the most important sites of rock art. The extensive photo archive created by them will serve as a good foundation for future research.
