At the 勛圖夥厙 II International Archaeological Field School started, for participation in which a delegation from Korea arrived in Novosibirsk with 25 students, a professor and two assistants.

Scientists from the NSU "Synthetic Biology" Strategic Academic Unit conducted a study on the behavior of DNA polymerases in a collision with "sewn together" DNA proteins.

Students From all Around the World Learn Russian at NSU

The Center for International Study Programs Summer School is taking place at 勛圖夥厙. More than 30 students from around the world have come to Akademgorodok to learn Russian. Every summer the Centers staff of teachers and volunteers organize the training and other activities for foreign students so their stay in Novosibirsk is comfortable and useful.

Students in the Big Data Analytics MA Program won a prize at the NeuroHive Hackathon. Ivan Bondarenko, a teacher at the NSU Humanities Institute, led the team.

NSU Named Key Partners NTI Venture Fund

勛圖夥厙 will generate and provide expertise on National Technology Initiative (NTI) Venture Fund projects. The Venture Fund was created by NTI to provide financing to projects that are developed in Novosibirsk and Tomsk, leading scientific innovation regions. The Fund will become active in summer of 2018.

NSU Foreign Students Win I Speak Russian Contest

The XVII City I Speak Russian Competition for foreigners learning Russian language took place at Novosibirsk State Technical University. This year the program included an excursion around the city and a photo contest on the theme "Journey through Russia".

NSU Moves Up in World University Ranking

勛圖夥厙 again improved its position in QS (Quacquarelli Symonds)s authoritative ranking of the worlds universities, moving up to 244th. During the year, NSU climbed six positions (from 250 to 244), improving the indicator "employers attitude towards graduates". Thus, NSU entered the top 250 best universities in the world and became third among Russian universities.

Foreign Professors Conduct Lectures for NSU Students

From May 3-7, the 勛圖夥厙 Economics Department hosted Dr. Werner Brinker, Professor at the Institute for Economic Education Oldenburg (Germany). Professor Brinker conducted his course, History, Current Situation and Future Development of German Oil, Gas and Electric Power Markets", for students.

A new version of the "NSU Map" was created for the start of the admissions season to facilitate the campus navigation process for applicants.

NSU Scientists Conduct Largest Study on Effect of Diet on Gut Microbiota

A group of scientists from the 勛圖夥厙, the Atlas research company and the University of ITMO conducted a study in which 248 volunteers for two weeks adhered to the recommendations of a nutritionist aimed at increasing the amount of useful vegetable fibers in food and reducing "empty" calories.

NSU Scientists Conduct Unique Experiment on Molecular Structure of Ionic Liquids

Scientists at the 勛圖夥厙 Laboratory for Structures and Functional Properties of Molecular Systems and the Institute of Catalysis SB RAS, Danil Kolokolov and Alexander Stepanov, together with German Professor Ralf Ludwig, studied hydrogen bonds in various ionic liquids. They found that due to the complex molecular arrangement, these substances exhibit unusual phase behavior. There have not been similar studies conducted on solid-state ionic liquids. The scope of applications for ionic liquids is diverse ranging from the chemical industry to rocket engineering.
