Summer school "Cryptography and information security" 2020 has launched

This year the Summer school will be held online from July 9 to 27. The school is organized by the Cryptographic center (Novosibirsk), cryptography laboratory JetBrains Research, Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, committee of NSUCRYPTO contest and the NSU departments of Information technologies and Mathematics and mechanics.

The Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok will serve as a platform for coordinating cooperation between three institutes of the SB RAS and the Huawei company

On June, 17, three institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Russia) signed a memorandum of understanding. The Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok will become a centralised platform for communications and launching joint projects.

NSU Scientists Investigate History of the “Traveling Salesman” Algorithm

Rene van Bevern, scientist of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, and Victoria Slugina, Deputy Director of Research at the Humanities Institute, studied the origin of the algorithm for a classic combinatorial optimization problem, “the traveling salesman”. In their article, the researchers argue that a Soviet scientist at the Novosibirsk Institute of Mathematics, constructed the world-famous “Christofides algorithm”

Two reports were presented on the mathematical modeling of the spread of infections, including COVID-19. The next seminar will be held on April 17 at 18:00 (GMT+7).

On March 27, a working meeting of representatives of Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok and Kurchatov Genomic Center of the ICG SB RAS was held in remote format

Within the framework of the meeting, the prospects for interaction between the Centers were considered, in particular, the launch in 2020 of a new master's program in the field of bioinformatics.
