This year the Summer school will be held online from July 9 to 27. The school is organized by the Cryptographic center (Novosibirsk), cryptography laboratory JetBrains Research, Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, committee of NSUCRYPTO contest and the NSU departments of Information technologies and Mathematics and mechanics.
On June, 17, three institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Russia) signed a memorandum of understanding. The Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok will become a centralised platform for communications and launching joint projects.
Mathematical center in Akademgorodok contributed to holding this scientific online school for students and young researches on modern problems of probability theory.
Ravil Bildanov and Sergey Presnyakov, students of the SESC NSU, together with the scientists of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok and their colleagues published three articles in scientific journals.
The competition was supported by the Educational Initiative Charitable Foundation (A. A. Lyapunov prize) and the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok.
Rene van Bevern, scientist of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok, and Victoria Slugina, Deputy Director of Research at the Humanities Institute, studied the origin of the algorithm for a classic combinatorial optimization problem, “the traveling salesman”. In their article, the researchers argue that a Soviet scientist at the Novosibirsk Institute of Mathematics, constructed the world-famous “Christofides algorithm”
Two reports were presented on the mathematical modeling of the spread of infections, including COVID-19. The next seminar will be held on April 17 at 18:00 (GMT+7).
Within the framework of the meeting, the prospects for interaction between the Centers were considered, in particular, the launch in 2020 of a new master's program in the field of bioinformatics.
