Comparison of students admission to classical Russian universities by unified state exam results of enrolled students, done by Higher School of Economics, the Ministry of Education and Science of the RF and 鈥淪ocial Navigator鈥� of the information agency 鈥淩ossiya segodnya鈥� with their partners Civic Chamber of the RF, has ranked NSU as taking the 3rd position in the list of classical universities.
The survey included all the Russian 442 colleges and universities which enrolled students according to their unified state exam results, without additional creativity or subject tests. The results are based on the records of admissions notifications placed at the university websites. The survey aimed at evaluating the quality of enrollment for full-time Bachelor鈥檚 and Specialist Programs.
The survey compliers took into account the GPA of the students enrolled by their unified state exam results (except Olympiad winners) for the whole university, together with the average and minimum points on particular majors. The survey also contains data on state-subsidized enrollment in general 鈥� the number of applicants enrolled without exams, non-competitively, competitively and for employer-sponsored education.
The GPA of the students enrolled in NSU, according to 2014 results, is as high as 79.2 points per subject, which is the 3rd result after Saint Petersburg State University with 86.3 points and Moscow State University with 84.8 points. NSU also takes the 3rd place according to the number of the Olympiad winners enrolled, which counts 151 freshmen.
All in all, the survey has shown that the quality of enrollment this year is a bit lower compared to the previous year. However, the experts believe that such a slight downturn is due to a much stricter procedure of conducting the state unified exam, which excluded cheating and information leaks.
