A student won the Golden medal in the International Olympiad

An 11 form student of the Specialized Educational Scientific Centre (SESC) at NSU Evgeny Gulyak won the Golden medal in the 45 International Chemistry Olympiad for schoolchildren that was held at Moscow State University. All in All, in the Russian combined team there are 2 Golden and 2 Silver medals. In the team there were also Nikita Shlapakov from Chelyabinsk, Mikhail Yagofarov from Kazan and Artyom Boychuk from Noyabrsk (Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area). Teams from 74 countries competed in the 45 International Chemistry Olympiad.

The winners of the Olympiad have the right to study at any university in the world. It should be noted that Evgeny Gulyak has handed in his documents to enter NSU.

Reference: An International Chemistry Olympiad for schoolchildren is an annual contest for secondary school students – winners of National Chemistry Olympiads. International Chemistry Olympiads are held annually in July in one of the countries-participants of the Olympic Movement. The first in history International Chemistry Olympiad for schoolchildren was held in 1968 in Prague. Russia was the host of the Olympiad in 1996, 2007 and 2013.
