The admission process at NSU is going its usual way. We are planning to enroll 931 freshmen for the state-funded places at the Bachelor’s and Specialist’s levels together. As for the yesterday’s data, the increase in number of applicants has been dramatic in comparison to the previous year. To be more exact, the number of applications now counts about 9,000, which is higher than that of the previous year for this date by 1,000. The same trend is noticeable with the number of the documents accepted: 2,723 applicants had filed their documents to enter NSU by 7 July, which is greater by 150 than that in 2013.

“As a rule, we annually enroll more than 200 applicants without an enrolment competition according to their results of the winners and runners-up of subject Olympiads. In respect to the total score, last year freshmen had the score of much higher than 200, and I believe this year it’ll be as high as before,” said Mikhail Fedoruk.

At present, the activity peak of personal applications is past; although last week, for example, the hall was crowded with applicants and their parents. Now it is mail applications that are actively processed. About 200 letters are received by the admission committee daily.

The most popular departments among the applicants are Economics and Law; the competition is also high enough at the Humanities Department (Fundamental and Applied Linguistics) and the Foreign Languages Department.

While Mikhail Fedoruk worked as an expert of the admissions committee, three girls were lucky to be enrolled by the Rector himself.

“Once upon a time I was an applicant and brought my documents here, but it is the first time I have been an expert of the committee. I am truly anxious to see who comes to enter the university and it was a pleasure for me to communicate with our applicants,” shared his impressions Mikhail Fedoruk.

Let us remind that NSU accepts applications until 25 July, 2014.
