Chemist’s Days were celebrated at NSU with a series of bright events.
To begin with, chemist students organized a special fair in the open air in front of the main NSU building, where they demonstrated Wet-Lab. Everyone interested in chemistry could try to carry out an experiment, draw invisible posters and even taste molecular dishes. The fair was followed by a night after party in the backyard with even more enchanting tests and a fire show.
24 May, 2014, - Akademgorodok witnessed a 4-D quest with 8 bike and 10 walking teams as participants. The players had to find some coded sites in Akademgorodok with molecule-codes hidden there. The participating teams had 3 hours at their disposal and were to find as many Akademgorodok sites written in a special code as possible, then reveal the molecule codes hidden and report them to the organizers. The most successful teams discovered almost all of the 16 sites coded.
Another event that took almost a whole month, from 5 till 25 May, was an open Spartakiada among the devotees of the Natural Sciences Department. The competition program included ping-pong, football and volleyball games played by the teams of the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis, Nikolaev Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Institute of Chemical Kinetics and Combustion (SB RAS) and, of course, the organizers’ team, that of the Natural Sciences Department of NSU.
The crowning event in the series was the Chemolympic games conducted traditionally on the NSU stadium on the last spring Sunday. The Institutes’ teams and the team of students were to pass serious teambuilding tests – to cover a distance with their legs tied, conquer a maze and even master rock climbing. The proud winners are: 1st place - the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis team; 2nd place - SpinTeam; 3rd place - the Institute of Chemical Kinetics and Combustion team.
