О. Rebkovets at the Presidential Council for the Russian Language

Vladimir Putin has signed the executive order on the Presidential Council for the Russian Language. The Council consists of 42 members - media executives, university rectors, linguists and other prominent personalities - working under supervision of Presidential Advisor for Culture Vladimir Tolstoy. Olga Rebkovets, an NSU graduate and the head of the famous project “Total Dictation”, received an invitation to join the Council, too.

Olga says, “It’s a high honor and great pleasure for me to receive such an invitation. I’ll try to work most effectively. Our Total Dictation is now one of the most efficient and successful projects aimed at popularizing the Russian language in Russia and abroad, which transforms into a public system of further education. Moreover, the project allows gathering a huge database of scientific materials based on the participants’ papers, by analyzing which we can make conclusions on the current language processes and trends. I believe my personal experience and the experience of conducting the project will prove helpful in such a Council.”
