Ten Students Compete for MISS NSU 2017 Title
On December 15, ten finalists will compete in the annual Miss NSU 2017 beauty contest at the House of Youth in Akademgorodok Novosibirsk.
All ten finalists will present a personal introduction, a talent and do a podium walk. The jury will then sel ect the top five participants and they will compete in improvisation, eloquence, and a final runway demonstration. Organizers have been preparing for the contest for more than two months and the final show, which has long been an anticipated event not only for NSU, but for the entire Akademgorodok community, promises to be interesting and very entertaining. Everyone is invited to support the finalists. Tickets can be purchased in the hallway at NSU’s new main building weekdays and Saturdays fr om 10:30 to 18:00, or online via the link buy.kvant.me. – This year, you can buy discount tickets. We are conducting a program with the Maximin Comedy Club. If you purchase a ticket to Miss NSU 2017 and the Maximina Anniversary Show, you get a 10% discount of 50 rubles for each ticket, for a total of 100 rubles off. Maximin's Comedy Show will take place on December 8 at the House of Scientists.

NSU Archaeology Returns to Top 100 in International QS Subject Rankings
In 2026, NSU returned to the top 100 in the QS Subject Rankings in Archaeology (last year, it ranked 101-150). Only three Russian universities are included in the rankings with NSU in first place (ranked 51-100) followed by Moscow State University (101-150) and Altai State University (151-200).

NSU Conducts International Physics Olympiad Final in Mali
The final round of the ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø International Physics Olympiad, "Your Path to Real Science," was held in Mali at the Django Cissé Private Lyceum – the Kati Multifunctional Center. Nineteen students from Mali, Niger, and Guinea advanced to the final round. 15 students in physics (14 from Mali and one from Niger) and four in mathematics (from Guinea).
