26 April, 2014 – A traditional international student forum, Interweek-2014, opens: Long live NSU!

The first day had a very dense program. It began with an International Parade along the way from the Academia Cinema House to the main building of NSU.

The Parade was organized by GlumClub, the student Club of the Humanities Department. Essentially, it is a modern mixture of a traditional parade, a carnival procession, and a 1 May demonstration, all in one. The number of the participants, who included students, dancers, sportsmen, and musicians, was growing and reached its peak closer to the NSU building.

NSU Rector, Mikhail Fedoruk, said in a brief greeting speech, “Dear students, colleagues and fellows! Today we open our traditional Interweek, which former and current students associate with youth and Mayevka (a traditional beginning-of-May event at NSU). The current Interweek motto is “The World of Our Dream”. I think everybody dreams and I would like you to build this world of dreams, which will be bright, merry and happy. My congratulations on opening the Interweek! Long live the Interweek and our alma mater, NSU!”

The official opening ceremony was followed by a dance flashmob including street dance and rap battles, which was a part of the festival Academ-urbania. The event took place in front of the NSU main building.
