The Interfax Group, part of the National University Ranking project, assessed Russian university educational programs in entrepreneurship. NSU took second place for the first time, the top three also included Synergy University and Siberian Federal University.
The assessment methodology is primarily based on the results of a survey of program managers, employees, students, and university graduates. Particular attention is paid to the availability of their own educational and methodological developments, the use of a matrix of entrepreneurial competencies, and students creating their own businesses and managing their development. In 2019-2020, as part of the TOP 5-100 program at NSU, the project “Entrepreneurship Education System Development” was implemented at the Economics Department. One of the results was the launch of a full Master’s Program on “Innovative Entrepreneurship and Management.” This educational program was evaluated for participation in the rating.
Elena Alyabina, Candidate of Economic Sciences and Associate Professor NSU Economics Department’s Management Economics Section, commented on the rating,
It’s nice to know that the Program was greatly appreciated by Master’s graduates. An important role is played by the fact that many of our teachers are business practitioners who combine valuable practical experience with a good level of methodology Of course, close ties with real business organizations and innovation infrastructure such as Akadempark, Novosibirsk Regional Innovation Fund, EFKO Group of Companies, residents of Technopark, Business Incubator and others is very important. In 2022, the NSU Startup Studio began its operations with the goal of forming an intra-university community of young student entrepreneurs. This is a unique project for the development of technological and innovative entrepreneurship without interrupting the educational process.
Maria Galyamova, Head of the NSU Startup Studio and organizer of the NSU Student Startup Accelerator .catalyst, explained,
The uniqueness of the NSU Startup Studio is that we develop entrepreneurial competencies in young people together with strategic partners. Our primary partner is the Technopark Fund for the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok. To date, more than 30 student startups have entered Academpark as residents.
The startup studio is also the organizer of the accelerator of student projects .catalyst. Last year, 72 student teams (300 participants) passed through .catalyst. The new accelerator season starts on October 6.
