Fr om July 24 to July 30, the first intensive week of the Great Mathematical Workshop 2022 was held. The workshop is a large-scale three-week event wh ere teams of students, schoolchildren and teachers work on projects. The workshop was organized by the MCA, Tyumen State University and Mathematical Center of Tomsk State University.
For two weeks, schoolchildren, school graduates and students conducted research in the field of IT crime investigation, blockchain technologies, methods of cryptanalysis of modern ciphers and decryption of old manuscripts at a school-conference organized with the support of the Mathematical Center in Akademgorodok.
Two researchers from the Laboratory of Applied Digital Technologies of MCA, whose projects will help in monitoring cancer and diagnosing abdominal aortic aneurysms, as well as four students from the Engineering School of NSU, were among the winners of this All-Russian competition.
On June 6 at the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics (Novosibirsk, Russia) a conference 鈥淲omen in Mathematics鈥�, which was dedicated to the International Day of Women in Mathematics, was held with the support of MCA.
On May 31, 2022 in the Dissertation Council at the Lavrentev Institute of Hydrodynamics SB RAS Dmitry A. Prokudin defended his thesis "Global existence theorems for the equations of dynamics of viscous compressible multicomponent media" for the degree of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics.
A large mathematical workshop will be held in person at the Novosibirsk, Tyumen and Tomsk, where, in addition to traditional scientific projects, the development of school, secondary and higher education will be discussed for the first time.
Congratulations to Yuri L. Trakhinin on being awarded the title of "Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences" and Vladimir G. Romanov on being awarded the title of "Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences"!
On May 20 and 21, Novosibirsk will host the 鈥淭his is Mathematics鈥� mathematical festival, the purpose of which is to show all the beauty and fascination of this science. The event was created by NSU students and subsequently received the support of the MCA. We took a short interview about their project from the main organizer of the festival.
